Nanzhila Plains is located in the southern section of Kafue National Park, Zambia. It is accessible via road from both Livingstone via Kalomo and Dundumwezi Gate (details below) or from Lusaka via Itezhi-Tezhi and Musa Gate (details below). The lodge also utilizes Ngoma air-strip which is serviced by a number of air charter companies based in Lusaka and Livingstone and is approx a 2 hour game drive from the lodge. The spacious main lodge is a raised, grass-thatched structure (called an insaka) with a beautiful teak deck. Elevated above the Nangandwe pool, it comprises a lounge and dining area, bar and verandah. An adjoining communal open-air fireplace is a great gathering place in the evening, where stories are exchanged under the stars. Enjoy game-viewing and bird-watching from the cool verandah, shaded by a huge jackal berry tree (also known as the African Ebony), which provides an unhindered view of the dambo(vlei or wetlands).

Kafue National Park
Kafue National Park, one of the largest in Africa, has many varied habitats: the Kafue, Lufupa and Lunga rivers with adjoining peaceful stretches of riverine vegetation, dambos and wetlands, extensive miombo woodland with seasonal floodplains and swampland in the north. Owing to this diversity, Kafue is blessed in wildlife.
- Kafue epitomises all the remote, wild and diverse characteristics of the Zambian wilderness
- The vast Busanga Plains are perhaps the prime wildlife viewing destination in the country
- Despite its remoteness, Kafue is easily accessible from both Lusaka and Livingstone
